If NEWGEN and Fashion forward are about getting your business lanched and thriving, the BFC Vogue Designer Fashion Fund is about taking your established business towards global hyper-growth.
As usual, it's a panel judging your applications - and those hoops are well worth jumping, because one winner will receive £200,000 without any expectation of shareholding. Even if you miss out on that, you'll stand a chance of getting access to mentors and other support to get things moving even further up.
Apply via the British Fashion Council site by December the 2nd.

Crowdfunding thrives in music

Music crowd-funding platform Sellaband have just announced that music icon Chuck D (Public Enemy) is joining them as an ambassador while they attempt to gain ground in the US.
Since their launch in August 2006, the German venture has seen fans raise $50,000 in funds for 29 musical artists to release albums. A mighty $2.2 million has been invested in unsigned artists overall. You can read more here and here.
We're delighted to see them going from strength to strength as one of the pioneers of crowdfunding and can't wait to see them break America with a democratic funding model.
We're looking forward to developing a similar track record of success in connecting fashion fans with great designers.

Backing a fashion designer: what all the fuss is about

So we're all about adopting fashion designers - but what does that mean?
What:
* Buy a share, or 'element' in an independent designer's next collection.
* Each element costs 15 Euros, of which 14 Euros are invested in the designer's adoption.
* If you change your mind you can withdraw your elements (minus 1 Euro for processing) or switch designers at any time up until the designer hits their target.
* Once 5,000 elements have been sold, your designer is officially 'adopted'.
* They create a new collection and sell it on catwalkgenius.com.
* Profits from all these sales are split equally between you, the designer and us. more »
