One of the reasons we started up Catwalkgenius.com rather than a sweet shop or a theme park is because we noticed an opportunity to bring a growing trend ('crowdfunding') to an industry it hadn't yet arrived in (fashion).

I remain amazed that in the whole of the interwebby thing, we're the only ones providing something like the designer adoption scheme - and I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

However, I am noticing lots of other really cool interactive things starting to happen in a kind of 'Style 2.0' wave, so I thought I'd highlight some of my favourites.

Of course, you'll all know about the Daddy of interactive fashion, Threadless.

What it is: Anyone can submit t-shirt designs and slogans, people vote on them and you're rewarded in cash if yours are printed and sold.
Why it rocks: It's easy to join in and the sheer volume of entries means that it regularly produces gems.

StyleShake:

What it is:
You can create your own dresses from a menu of components, then buy the results.
Why it rocks:
You can become a designer without the inconvenience of years of studying and sewing-related injuries.

NetGranny

What it is: You can order hand-knitted socks (and muffs) from a Granny of your choice.
Why it rocks: It's nice to know that your socks come from a lovely Swiss Nan, especially if yours can't tear herself away from the gin long enough to feed the cat, let alone knit.

NB: At the moment, the Grannies are on a well-deserved summer break. Revisit when your toes start feeling the chill.
